Bailey is our new E2School teacher and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies and is TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certified.

Welcome, Bailey! Tell us about yourself.

I graduated from The University of Kansas with a Bachelor’s in Communication Studies and an emphasis in American Studies. My first job after graduation was as a customer support manager for a company which created ESL and primary school content, used to reinforce critical skills and test-prep.

During this time I began also working for Pearson Education. During my 6-year tenure, I marked a wide variety of exams, including the PTE.

In 2013, I moved to Guatemala in order to teach ESL to primary school students. This is when I realized that working directly with students was my passion – I love seeing things “click” and watching students improve.

Eventually, I decided to begin working for ETS where I marked the TOEFL exam. I did this for 4 years, up until I was hired with E2.

I also had a career designing and presenting online curriculum to primary school-aged children in China. While I loved many aspects of this position, it also made me realize that I am much more suited to teach adults.

Working for E2School has genuinely been a dream come true for me. Being able to work directly with students while using several areas of my expertise has been a perfect fit, and I cannot wait to help more people pass their exams!

What’s your Top Tip for Success?

My advice for the speaking section is to just keep going. We all make mistakes and stumble over our words, it is how we recover from these errors that can make a huge difference. If you panic and focus on the mistake; you will continue to make more errors. However, if you either quickly correct yourself or even completely ignore the mistake and move on, you will do just fine.
