Jay is the Director of Teaching and Learning at E2Language and holds a Master of Applied Linguistics from the University of Melbourne.

Tell us about your background? I’ve been an English language teacher since I was 20! I also have a Master of Applied Linguistics from the University of Melbourne

What’s your top tip for success? Build fundamental skills, learn the E2 methods, join the live classes, get feedback and have fun!

Where did you grow up? I grew up in the middle of nowhere down a dead-end gravel track, a 20-minute drive from a tiny little town called Lavers Hill on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia.

What do you like doing in your spare time? Any hobbies? I meditate, read and sleep.

What do you do first thing every morning? Recall my crazy dreams and marvel that reality has magically reappeared!

Do you speak any other languages? I have studied (but have long forgotten) Sanskrit, Kannada, Korean and Yolngu Matha (Australian aboriginal language); but I can speak Indonesian/Malay at an intermediate level.


What country is on your bucket list to travel to?

Iran!
